No motivation

I was doing really well this morning at work, and now I’ve lost all motivation.  I think it’s the nice weather we’re having right now…I would just rather be outside.

We took my mom out for her birthday on Tuesday, before she left to go back home.  We all went to Red Lobster.  The kids were a little antsy (that’s why we don’t go out to dinner with them during the week!), and we ended up eating in shifts.  Ciara ate a lot, including a lot of the macaroni and cheese I ordered for Seamus.  I did tell the waitress it was her birthday, and I ordered her a nice cookie with ice cream and hot fudge on it.  Ciara loved it!  They sang to her, which Seamus thought was funny, but Mom didn’t, I think.  Seamus liked having Grandma at home…Ciara was more cautious, but she did OK with my mom (especially if I wasn’t around).

Ciara’s been walking everywhere, which you can see in more videos that I posted at the beginning of this week, I think.  In the morning, she really wants to drag Seamus’ backpack (it has the wheels and a handle) and walk from the house to the car, and then the car to the daycare.  Maybe it makes her feel older or something.  I do think that she has been saying ‘That’, and pointing to stuff, for us to name for her.  I think she may have said ‘Cat’ too, in response to a cat picture on the rug in Miss Tammy’s classroom.  No ‘Mommy’ or ‘Daddy’ yet though.

Seamus has been doing very well with the potty training at daycare, and comes home without a pull-up on.  We’ve had some accidents at home in the evening, but it hasn’t been that bad.  He just doesn’t want to go to the bathroom…too much other stuff going on…at home.  His teachers say he’s been doing fine with only underwear at daycare, but they did note that he doesn’t seem to be eating a lot (or at least, as much as he used to).  I think he’s getting a little more picky about what he’s eating, because he doesn’t eat a whole lot at times at home, either.  Yesterday, he did eat some of what Mike and I ate for dinner (egg noodles, meatballs, and some sliced green and yellow pepper…but he didn’t like the pepper).  I think he just doesn’t eat ANYTHING like he used to.
