Happy St Paddy's Day!

Both of the kids are in green, but I think it’s a coincidence, because I forgot about wearing green until I dropped them off at daycare, and saw all the teachers in green. I wonder if they have some sort of newsletter for the teachers, and it reminds them…because I know I’m wearing blue today!

I have finished posting all the videos I have to the blog this morning, so you can go out there and view them. Remember, if the screen on the video looks black, just hit the play button, and the video should load.

This weekend was nothing really special. With gas at almost $3.20, it’s too expensive to go driving for long distances unless we’re going someplace. However, it’s a good thing we didn’t have any plans, because we ended up going to Sam’s Club because I had a flat tire. So, we got 2 new tires for the back (they were pretty bald), and we went to Waffle House for lunch (the kids ate off our plates…turns out they both really like scrambled eggs and waffles!), and we got bulk meat from Sam’s Club as well (which I have put into baggies and put in the freezer). Seamus helped me with the baggies…he would take one out of the box (and it had to be the RIGHT one too, let me tell ya…he was really particular about which one he was handing me), and then he would open it, and stick his hand inside to spread it out. Then, I could take it, and put the meat (we got ground beef and hot Italian sausages) in it, and he was asking, ‘Ready now? Ready now?’, because he really wanted to give me the next baggie. See…kids can help in the kitchen! It kept him busy, at least.

Sunday was church…next weekend is Easter, and service is at the University of Phoenix stadium again (yes, that’s where the last Super Bowl was)…this time, though, I’m not working at it, and Mike’s not going to be there (but my mom will be…lucky her, eh?) so the kids will be with us (no childcare, unless you work at the service). After church, we were going to go to Fazoli’s (fast-food pasta place…pretty good, actually), but then Mike wanted to go to Roadhouse. Hey, I’m not complaining! I had a really good steak, and the kids were reasonably well-behaved (Ciara was excellent…Seamus was excellent for the first part, and then he got antsy). She wanted to play peek-a-boo while she had been eating beans with her hands, so she was quite messy afterwards. Seamus learned how to eat peanuts (they have a bucket of them on the table, and then an empty bucket for the shells), although he kept putting the peanuts I had shelled for him in the throw-away bucket, and he did try eating the shells (but only once…that was enough for him not to do it again!). They had mac and cheese, and Ciara had baked BBQ beans (gosh, she loves those things…and now she can ask for more when she eats what’s on the plate), and then Seamus had some applesauce too. I had a really good steak (it was medium…I usually order it well, but I wanted to try it…I just might try more steaks medium from now on), and Mike had something called the Roadkill.

Mike will be leaving for NC on Wednesday, Mom gets in on Friday, then Mike gets in on Monday, and Mom leaves on Tuesday. It is going to be a nutty week!
